Before, During, And After Your Laminate Installation
By taking the proper steps at every phase of installation, you can prepare for outstanding finished results!
Before Your Installation:
Many laminate products offer floating installation methods that will make the entire process easier and faster! If your laminate style is a glue-down product, you will need a perfectly level subfloor. Completely empty the room be removing all furniture and items from your room, closet spaces, and walls. We can help you assess any flooring removal steps, subfloor prep, removing trim, and other considerations. Your new laminate will need to acclimate to your home’s humidity and temperature for 48 hours beforehand.
During Your Installation:
Establish adequate ventilation in the home during your laminate installation. Since your laminate installers are using tools such as saws, hammers, and potentially adhesives, it is important to keep kids and pets away from the process. We also advise designating a work area in the home for your installers to resize and saw laminate pieces as needed. Be home and available during installation to answer questions and address any complications.
After Your Installation:
Use this time to ask your installers any questions you may have and make sure that your doors have full range of motion with the new laminate floors, especially if a floating installation method was used. If your laminate floors are glued down, we recommend waiting 48 hours for the glue to set before walking on them. You can walk on a floating laminate floor immediately, but we recommend waiting at least 24 hours before restoring your furnishings in the room.
